Somers Point Volunteer Fire Company One was established in 1907 and we are a 100% volunteer company and we pride ourselves on this dedication and heritage. At this time we respond with 2 class A structual engines, a 102' tower ladder, a utility truck and a command vehicle. Together with our "sister company" Somers Point Volunteer Fire Company 2 we comprise the Somers Point Fire Department.  We run on all alarms in the city which averages over 500 calls per year and provide no EMS service. We provide mutual aid to surrounding area, we are members of Atlantic County Tanker Task Force Alpha Division, 5" Hose Task Force, and operate a haz-mat decon trailer in conjunction with County Office of Emergency Management. We are located on the southern tip of Atlantic County on the Great Egg Harbor bay across from Ocean City N.J. We cover a portion of the Garden State Parkway and are mostly a residential area with 2 large shopping centers, a hospital, numerous restaurants and  busy State Route 9 running through the center of town. We see a influx of visitors during the summer months as we are right in the middle of the "south jersey shore"
